 Stack Molding

CCPT is one of the pioneers in utilizing and successfully implementing stack molding in Asia. CCPT therefore has the capability to provide stack molding for current and potential future customers.

First and foremost, a stack mold is made out of two or four levels of cavities and cores assembled in one mold frame and seek to increase output via the same injection press. By increasing the output of the injection process, stack molding decreases the number of machines required to produce the same output, and thus also lowering the resources needed for upkeep and handling of the machines, and ultimately lowering costs.

Traditionally, stack molding are used to make thin-walled flat parts that are fairly simple in shape, such as microwave trays. In 1999, a joint-effort between CCPT and Hewlett Packard was successful in implementing a stack molding process that produced a complicated lever clamp part with undercuts.
